The SA+AH would like to review your intention for pursuing an art history bachelor’s degree at the University of Florida. This letter of intent should be approximately 250-350 words, double-spaced and should articulate why you wish to pursue an Art History major at UF. Please be thoughtful and concise. Remember – this is an opportunity to convey your passion for art history as well as provide the faculty with a writing sample.

In addition to the media component of your portfolio, you will need to write an artist statement that explains why you make the work you do and how your chosen media is important to your art-making process. Include your background and experiences using your chosen media, creative works that have influenced your work as an artist, your goals and aspirations, strengths and weaknesses, and motivation. Think of this statement as describing “why” you make your work and “how” you make your work.
